Tracelink “Serial Number Exchange Disposition Assigned” XML file - “Country drug code” and “Internal material code” tags

The ARC Platform communicates with the Tracelink system via SOAP request or XML file transfer for the following aspects:

  • Serial number request and response: Request of serial numbers required for serialization of products from the Tracelink system.
  • SNX Disposition assigned (DA): Contains the commissioning and aggregation events of serialized serial numbers.
  • SNX Disposition updated (DU): Contains serial numbers with “sample” or “reject” status.
  • SNX End of Batch (EoB): Contains the total quantity of commissioned serial numbers of a batch.
  • SOM Sales shipment (SO): Contains shipment related information of the highest aggregation level.
  • SOM Product Release: Contains product code/lot number to indicate the product can be released in Tracelink.

This article aims to explain the logic followed in ARC MES/Cockpit to determine in which cases Country drug code or Internal material code tags are used in Tracelink’s SNX Disposition Assigned XML file while order results are declared to Tracelink.

Serial Number Exchange (SNX) Disposition Assigned (DA)

The Disposition Assigned asynchronous message communicates commissioning and aggregation information for multiple levels of the aggregation hierarchy (generated by events on the packaging site/line system) to the Tracelink Serial Number Exchange (SNX) API of Tracelink.

This event is triggered after serial numbers have been applied to products and aggregated (typically after automated serialization on a packaging line) and after a subsequent “Final Confirmation” event has been triggered in the ARC MES/Cockpit.

The DA XML file is generated through the ARC Platform and sent to the Tracelink SFTP server.

In Tracelink’s SNX Disposition Assigned XML file, County Drug Code or Internal Material Code tags appear under the Item Detail tag, based on the configurations done in ARC MES/Cockpit.

Below are samples of generated InternalMaterialCode and CountryDrugCode tags in the SNX Disposition Assigned XML file.

In ARC MES/Cockpit module two main screens affect the generation of SNX Disposition Assigned XML file:

1. Company Management screen

2. Product Master Data Management screen

Rules

  • To generate the Country Drug Code inside the SNX Disposition Assigned XML file, the following steps should be performed:
  • Step 1: Under the Company Management screen, select Key Value “TL_COUNTRY”. Set the value of the Country Drug Code to “Yes” for the relevant Country Name.
  • Step 2: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, set the Additional Item Identification Type for the relevant Country Name.
  • Step 3: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, fill in the Additional Item Identification Value.
  • To generate the Internal Material Code inside the SNX Disposition Assigned XML file, the following steps should be performed:
  • Step 1: Under the Company Management screen, select Key Value “TL_COUNTRY”. Set the value of the Country Drug Code to “No” for the relevant Country Name.
  • Step 2.1: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, set the Additional Item Identification Type for the relevant Country Name.
  • Step 2.2: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, do not define the Additional Item Identification Value
  • Step 3.1: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, define the Additional Item Identification Value
  • Step 3.2: Under the Product Master Data Management screen, do not define Additional Item Identification Value.

Notes:

  • If step 2.1 is performed – the value of the Internal Material Code will be generated from the Additional Item Identification Value.
  • If step 2.2. is performed – the value of the Internal Material Code will be generated from the Material ID.
  • If step 3.1 is performed – the value of the Internal Material Code will be generated from the Material ID.
  • If step 3.2 is performed – the value of the Internal Material Code will be generated from the Additional Item Identification Value.

Below is a summary of the rules, with the example values:
